Bud’s makes the best cricket powders available! Our crickets are produced sustainably in Thailand by farmers with decades of experience. We work hand-in-hand with the farmers to ensure that the product meets international hygiene standards, and all products are lab tested for quality.

What can I use cricket powder for?

For every 1 cup of flour required in a recipe, replace with 1/8 to 1/4 cup of cricket powder for added protein and nutrition. Can also be used in any other recipe or foods such as protein shakes, pancakes, pasta, mac & cheese, bread, cake, cookies, etc.

What does it taste like?

Our cricket protein powder has a mild taste, slightly nutty and earthy. When mixing or baking, usually the taste is unnoticeable.

Are crickets healthy?

Yes, crickets are actually considered a superfood. Not only do they have 2x more protein and 60% less fat than beef, they have more iron than spinach, more calcium than milk, as much vitamin B12 as salmon, and contain 17 amino acids including Lysine.

What is the shelf life?

Store in a cool dark place, standard shelf life is usually 12-24 months after purchase. Every bag will have an expiration date on it.

Are crickets good for the environment?

Crickets are one of the most sustainable and environmentally friendly protein sources on the planet. Production of traditional protein sources like beef, chicken, pork, and even soybeans are a major contributor to climate change and use massive amounts of water.

– Crickets use only 1 gallon of water per 1 pound (vs. 2,500 gallons for beef)

– Crickets use 100x less land than cows (per pound)

– Crickets produce 1% of the CO2 emissions of cows
